Background in Brief

Aero-Quest has been involved in aerospace education since 1987 (originally as MEED), starting with the collection of material for the 5 books of lesson plans which will be converted to CD. These will contain interactive attributes, including movies and computer programs for the classroom.

The Principal of Aero-Quest was the main force behind the reintroduction of model rocketry - after personally lobbying State & Federal Government Departments - back to South Australia in 1992 (This hard work then allowed fireworks to be sold also, which has been withdrawn due to too many accidents!).

Schools from North Queensland through to Perth in Western Australia have benefited from our experience. The Principal of Aero-Quest was the prime mover and founding President of the Australian Rocketry Association, Marion Model Rocket and the Hi Flyte Club for South Australians where you can get a $15 membership to purchase engines as long as you are over 15 years of age!

We have presented lectures to over 1000 teachers and students across Australia through the education system, CSIRO Double Helix Club, Investigator Science Centre in South Australia and personal instruction.

Equipment and material from Aero-Quest has been used on a number of ABC national children's programs, plus supported National Science Week and providing displays at a number of schools across the State. We have done a series of radio interviews on rocketry for COAST-FM and ACE-TV in South Australia.
